The Puffit 2 portable vaporizer is the latest model by Hong Kong based manufacturer Lilly Rucky Ltd., also known as DiscreetVape. The new Puffit 2 vaporizer has a much stronger battery than the previous models Puffit and Puffit-X (about 75%), it heats up quicker and they have also reduced the size a lot. Now, the Puffit has the actual size of a real inhaler and therefore it is much more “discreet” than ever. Also they have removed the treasonable indicator lights and have exchanged them for a haptic feedback system! All this makes it even more suitable for actually using it in public.
Like the Puffit and the Puffit-X, the Puffit 2 features what I like to call a “puff-on-demand” system. This means for every puff you want to take, you need to heat up your herbs separately, like with the Magic Flight Launch Box for example. Once your set temperature has been reached, the Puffit 2 will stop heating within a few seconds, automatically. To take the next puff, you’ll need to repeat the process.
This is a very efficent method of vaping and you can decide yourself when you want to take the next puff from it, so you won’t waste any vapor. Therefore the vapor is super long lasting, even with a small oven size that only takes about 0,1g of herbs. Because of the inconsistent heat the vapor is thinner, than with vaporizers that heat constantly, though.
Normally, I’m not a big fan of wispy vapor, since I like to see the vapor clearly, but this is also a important part of the inhaler illusion, which would just not work out with big clouds, I guess. However, the taste is very good and clear, although the housing emits a plastic smell at first, so I would recommend to let it heat on the highest temperature setting for a couple of times, before actually using it with your herbs.
Btw. all electronic components of the Puffit 2 (oven and battery) are no longer connected with the plastic housing, which means that you can take them out entirely and build your own housing for it, too. I could imagine to cut my own watertool adapter from some nice wood for example, but creativity has no limits and I’m sure you guys have some nice ideas, as well. I’m looking forward to see some cool DIY housings in the near future!
The Puffit 2 vaporizer features three temperature presets for herbs (170/185/195°C) and one for concentrates (220°C). To change the temperature you need to push the tiny button, which is located on the oven, directly.
For around 100$ only , the Puffit 2 is a nice litte vaporizer, especially if you’re looking for the most discreet unit on the market, you can use in public, secretly. That’s what the Puffit 2 was designed for and it does a very good job, maybe even a better job than the ecig type herb vaporizers like the atmos boss, puffly f1 or the v2 series 3. Just if you’re looking for thick and heavy vapor, you should stick with another vaporizer that offers constant heat.
