Yes, in the broadest sense the E-livi8 vaporizer is a rebranded Flowermate V5.0S by chinese company Smiss. However, this one is different! The E-livi8 Vaporizer by RED-EYE UK LTD is not exactly the same than any other rebranded Flowermate V5.0s on the market and unlike other companys, they also don’t claim that it is their very own design, even if that’s partially true. They call it their remix, which I think is very appropriate.
Basically, the E-livi8 differs from the Flowermate V5.0S in two major ways. First, they have their very own temperature presets. While the Flowermate V5.0s offers 195°C, 205°C and 212°C, the Red-Eye team changed it to 172°C, 185°C and 216°C. Therefore the E-livi8 is more interesting to people who enjoy lower vaping temperatures, I believe. Unfortunately, I’m non of these and prefer the original settings over the new ones from the E-livi8, but that’s definitely a matter of personal preferences.
At 172°C and 185°C the vapor is a bit too wispy for me, but the taste is pure and clean. On the other hand 216°C is very hot for herbs. Therefore the vapor is much thicker, but also the taste is much weaker.
The second major difference between the E-livi8 and the Flowermate V5.0S is the airpath! That’s also what caught my attention in the first place. The Flowermate V5.0 and the V.5.0S have no spererated airpaths. Concrete, this means the air enters the vaporizer at the screen right next to all the electronic parts and get directly in contact with them on their way to the herb chamber. Honestly, this is the reason why I don’t use my Flowermate anymore. Same for a good friend! We both are afraid of possible health risks caused by that. Maybe that’s even not harmful at all, but if you have the feeling that you might ruin your health with it, you just can’t enjoy it anymore. I mean a vaporizer is supposed to be healthy, but sometimes I have the feeling they are more dangerous than healthy.
What I’m trying to say is, that the E-livi8 vapoizer was made exactly for people like me, who are sceptical towards the original airpath of the Flowermate version by Smiss. I mean, despite from that the Flowermate is a great vaporizer, for a very low price, but personally I rather would pay a few bucks more and have a save vaporizer (it’s still much cheaper than most of its competitors!), than having to fear unpredictable health risks. All they had to do is redirect the airpath through the mouthpiece storage below the herb chamber. Sometimes the most simple changes are the most effective ones.
