The Herbstick Vaporizer by CigGo is the latest portable dry herb vaporizer coming from China.
While most of the chinese vaporizers are obviously inspired by other popular units, the Herbstick is a unique model, with a couple of very cool and innovative features. For example, the herb chamber of the herbstick is entirely sealed from the electronics! Fresh air gets inside the chamber through a small whole in the side of the mouthpiece. At the same time, the small metal tube that leads the cool air down to the bottom of the herb chamber, can be used as a stirring tool by simply turning the mouthpiece, when attached.
But let’s start from the beginning… I was one of a few selected people, who were able to test a early version of the herbstick for them a couple of months ago, before I recieved the final version, lately. While the prototype still had a few flaws, they have now managed to improve the unit to my complete satisfaction. Unfortunately, the old version had the problem that only the last of six temperature-presets gave you any visible vapor, but only if the big herb chamber (takes about 0.3g of grinded herbs) was packed tight! Since they have modified the temperature presets, the final version works well with at least three presets (190, 200, 210 °C) and you don’t need to pack the oven tight anymore. Still, the vapor isn’t the cloudiest, but instead it’s very tasty, clean and smooth!
The heat up time is quick (below one minute from room temperature to 210°C) and the 2200 mah samsung battery is very long lasting. Surprisingly, the unit stays relatively cool, when in use.
The design might not be everyones cup of tea, but i actually like it. Yes, probably because it does look a bit like the police box from the very popular british tv-series doctor who. 😉
Negative is the bad smell of the electronic parts, that comes through the air slits from within the unit. It doesn’t bother me too much, though, since the herb chamber is seperated from these parts, anyway. Although, I would still recommend to burn-off potential production leavings first, before you start using it.
Also I’m a bit confused why they offer the herbstick for around 290$ on their own webshop, while you can get it below 100$ shipped, when buying it on the well known chinese marketplaces! Honestly, for 290$ you will definitely get superior units, that’s for certain, but below 100$ you will hardly find anything better, I believe.
Anyway, if you are on a strictly limited budget, go for the herbstick vaporizer, as long as you can get it cheap.
