The NO2 vaporizer by US company Vapir Inc was already released in 2010. At that time, it was a revolutionary and cutting-edge device, since it was the first electronic portable vaporizer with a build in battery! But while the vaporizer market is growing very fast these days, just four years later, the NO2 threatens to sink into oblivion. Falsely, in my opinion! While the trend is more towards very small and stealthy units, at the moment, the most important part for me, the vapor quality, hasn’t enhanced in the last few years, neccessarily. The best example for this is the Arizer Solo, which is still considered to be the best portable vaporizer ever. It’s pretty much the same with the NO2, except for that the Arizer Solo surpassed the NO2 vapor-wise and therefore it hasn’t the same position in the market, today. What remains is a very solid and pleasing portable vaporizer!
And in my opinion there is one fact that makes the NO2 more interesting than ever, nowadays: Its price drops constantly! Compared to similar units, the Vapir NO2 portable vaporizer is definitely a bargain. In this price range the only competitor is the the Puffit-X, which the Vapir still beats in mostly everything, except the size.
What I’m trying to say here is that newer doesn’t automatically mean it’s better, as well. What I really like about the NO2 is that it has basically no learning curve. This thing is absolutely foolproof and self-explanatory!
This is how it works: Fill your herbs in the screen. Now, put the screen in the heating chamber. Close the top and push the red button. Set the temperature and wait until it has reached the desired setting. This process will take about two minutes, when you’re using the battery. If you’re having the wall-charger plugged in, it already has reached vaping temperature in about one minute.
Now, you’re ready to vape!
Other noteworthy advantages of the NO2 are the good and smooth taste of the vapor, the exchangable battery and the light weight! Also the NO2 can easily be attached to your bubbler with a simply adapter from any other vaporizer, since it’s a whip based model.
But of course, the NO2 has a couple of disadvantages, too. The biggest one is its size. Compared to more recent units it’s kind of biggish.
Also it is mandatory that you will burn off the production leavings first, before you use it for the first time, or you might experience a very unpleasend plasticky flavor. That’s a general problem of all Vapir products, though and if you’re following the steps in the manual, you will be absolutely fine!
Especially for everyone on a stricly limited budget, this digital portable vaporizer is still very interesting. Even if people tend to believe that, The NO2 is nowhere near to be on the scrap heap and is still able to compete with more current devices by all means!
